Fluxome Inc., a Danish nutritional ingredient company, is the newest addition to the University of Maryland BioPark.

Fluxome is leasing two offices at the BioPark’s 801 W. Baltimore St. building to use for its U.S. headquarters and commercial operations. The company was established in 2002 through the Technical University of Denmark.

“It’s exciting to have another international tenant join us,” said Jane Shaab, the biopark’s executive director.

Jamie Lacey-Moreira, a spokeswoman for the BioPark, did not know the square footage of the company’s two offices.

Fluxome creates ingredients aimed at making foods healthier. It’s flagship product, Fluxome Resveratrol, is made from an antioxidant compound found in red wine and believed to help combat age-related health conditions, such as heart disease. Fluxome Resveratrol is incorporated into foods, drinks, dietary supplements and cosmetics.

“The BioPark and Baltimore immediately felt like a ‘home’ for Fluxome,” CEO Angela Tsetsis said in a statement. The biopark’s resources and experts will help the company establish roots in the U,S., Tsetsis said.
